Why take a college bachelor degree?
Bachelor degrees are four year college courses. A college bachelor degree directly prepares you to find a job in your industry, or to further your education. By earning a college bachelor degree, you can say that you have earned a certain amount of credits in general education courses, in addition to credits in your area of major. Many companies are seeking educated employees with relevant study and work experience, so earning your college bachelor degree will help take you to your career.
How long does it take?
In a four year College bachelor degree course, the first two years are spent learning a general education. This comprises of four areas; science and math, communication, social science and humanities. If you start with no college credits and attend classes full time, you can expect to complete the degree in four years. Some students will however take more or less, depending on the work load and if the student can devote all their time in attending classes. Most college bachelor degree programs will require you to complete 120 semester units, although universities and colleges accept transfer students from community colleges. You can expect to complete your bachelor’s degree in approximately two years if you have already earned your associate degree at a community college or through on line college.
Choosing courses
When you decide to take a major, either as an undergraduate or as a transfer student, your choice of study will determine whether you will graduate with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts. If you decide to concentrate on computer science, business or mathematics, you will earn a Bachelor of Science. English, history, humanities, literature and fine arts like pottery, music and art will earn you a Bachelor of Arts degree. Once you declare your major, you will take classes not only in that subject, but also in others that will be relevant to your course.
